About Us
Falcon-SVK is a Slovak-German company specializing in falconry, breeding and training of birds of prey with a long-standing tradition in Slovakia. Our passion for raptors and deep respect for nature drive us to provide services at the highest level.
We specialize in professional breeding of birds of prey, their training for falconry practice, as well as biological control – using raptors for ecological protection of buildings, airports, landfills and agricultural areas against unwanted birds and rodents.
We also provide live animal transport across Europe and offer birds of prey and falconry equipment for sale. Our goal is to combine traditional falconry with a modern approach to nature conservation.
Who We Are
We are Falcon-SVK – falconry led by Pavol Sihelský, who spent 30 years in Germany and Austria as a professional breeder and trainer of birds of prey and owls. Our priority is an expert approach, respect for animals and a safe experience for the public.

History of Falconry
Hunting with birds of prey is one of the oldest forms of hunting. Mummified falcons have been found in the tombs of ancient Egyptian pharaohs. Falconry is very widespread; in the Arab world it is a symbol of social status. The noble raptor is a symbol of speed, courage and beauty. Many countries use it as a national symbol, such as the USA – the bald eagle, Germany – the white-tailed eagle, Austria – the golden eagle, UAE – the falcon…
Falconry is approximately 3,500 years old. Reports about falconry in Europe were brought by Marco Polo in the 13th century, where he described in detail how the great Kublai Khan would set out annually with his 10,000 falconers for a hunt. They hunted steppe wolves, foxes and hares with eagles. Arabs hunted gazelles and antelopes.
Trained, and even untrained falcons – especially white hunting falcons, which are still highly valued today – were so popular among rulers and generals in the past that wars were ended in exchange for them. After the invention of gunpowder and firearms, falconry hunting survived as a tradition. Many countries of the world maintain it as a tradition and hobby.
Today falconry belongs to hunting, meaning that birds of prey are used for hunting like a firearm, of course with far less effect. Falconry is love for raptors and nature, and falconers contribute significantly to saving various endangered species of falcons and eagles. Falconers are pioneers in raptor breeding. The first to breed a peregrine falcon in captivity was Renz Waller in 1942, thereby proving that birds of prey can be bred in captivity and hunt just as well as wild birds, provided they are well trained in the falconry tradition.

Social projects – owl therapy
We offer a unique experience with trained owls, which are symbols of peace, wisdom and prudence. The owls fly freely and the programme is moderated – we explain their way of life and specific characteristics.

Biological Control
We help municipalities, towns and businesses with problems caused by overpopulated pigeons – deterrence and trapping using specially trained birds of prey and trapping equipment.

Workshop – raptor training
We offer falconry enthusiasts the opportunity to participate in the training of birds of prey (falcons, eagles) and owls directly at the Falconssvk breeding station. Dates must always be arranged in advance.
Professional photography of birds of prey and owls
With us you can photograph birds of prey and owls in free flight. Every photographer will find what they’re looking for. Dates must be arranged in advance.
Performances on request

Advertising and films
Our birds of prey are trained for close contact with people. They are handled with sensitivity and professionalism, making it possible to use them for various commercials, films or fairy tales.
Breeding
We are preparing detailed information about our breeding and rearing of birds of prey.
Offer for young falconers
If there is no experienced falconer nearby who can advise on training and keeping a bird of prey, come to us. The training and captive keeping will be accompanied by a professional adviser.
Stay with us (Rapovce – Novolandia)
The option to stay a few days in the Termalpark Rapovce – Lučenec / Novolandia area. Accommodation in cabins or small houses. Dogs are welcome.
